hallowen...AFI

AFI (A Fire Inside) is an American rock band from Ukiah, California, formed in 1991. The band started with a hardcore punk style, the hand of a major surge in the early 90's in California, with typical songs of the genre, barely two minutes long and influenced by bands like The Misfits and Dead Kennedys. In addition, for his second studio album, Very Proud of Ya, AFI signed with Nitro Records, one of the major record U.S. punk rock. However, Black Sails in the Sunset released in 1999, the band began to develop a more elaborate music with gothic music trends of the 80s and electronics, influenced largely by the arrival of Jade Puget. With The Art of Drowning and Sing the Sorrow, the band was confirmed as a band mature and a more experimental rock, while also arrived on the Billboard chart and signed by a multinational. In concert, as on the DVD I Heard a Voice, it reveals the Gothic paraphernalia and spectacular sunsets over the sound and lighting California band.

AFI Davey Havok was born when Mark Stopholese, Adam Carson and Vic Chalker, being in school in Ukiah, California, formed a project in 1990 to play alternative music. [4] At that time the band had no drummer nor experience in play instruments. Stopholese then suggested his friend Adam Carson would join because he had a drum set. Stopholese learned to play guitar, Chalker did the same with the bass and in 1993 released the EP Dork with the now defunct Loose Change, which included future AFI guitarist Jade Puget. [5] However Chalker lost interest and was replaced by bassist-composer Geoff Kresge.

AFI disbanded when its members went to different universities, including University of California at Berkeley (where Havok started but never finished his studies) and the University of California at Santa Barbara. Later reunited to perform together again, making them change their minds and left the university to devote himself full time to the band. Between 1993 and 1995 the band appeared in numerous EPs and vinyl shared and Behind the Times; Eddie Picnic's All Wet; This Is Berkeley Not West Bay; AFI / Heckle; Bombing the Bay Fly in the Ointment, two of them together with other hardcore bands like Heckle and Swingin 'Utters.

Thousands of lights adorn the streets of the capital, giving the city a unique appearance. Everything is flooded with light and shining city pending the arrival of Santa Claus.

Paris is perfect for winter holidays. The city seems out of a fairy tale. Not only the lights adorn the city, but thousands of fir trees, nativity scenes and storefronts decorated him utter the magic touch. In addition, wells are installed and ice rinks throughout the city for children to enjoy a memorable Christmas. The colorful Christmas lights adorn especially the three major Parisian department stores, Galeries Lafayette, Printemps and the Galleries Bon Marche, full of life and partying. Even Santa Claus is installed in Paris a few days before Christmas Eve to enjoy its charms!

While the whole city is beautiful at Christmas, it is worth visiting certain sites at this time. What better way to start than strolling down the Champs Elysees, one of the avenues with the most beautiful Christmas decorations in the world. The majestic Cathedral of Notre-Dame is one of the key points to be addressed at Christmas. Every year they installed a huge fir tree with red trim off the main entrance that leaves visitors speechless. Furthermore, Na celebrated Christmas Eve Midnight Mass at midnight. There are two very famous Christmas markets, one Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the other in Saint-Sulpice. They are located about ten blocks of each other, and offer beautiful Christmas crafts and ornaments, plus regional culinary specialties from all over France.

Barranquilla Carnival

The mixture is present in all the demonstrations of the Carnival of Barranquilla. The cultures of different groups of people who arrived in the Colombian Caribbean coast were mixed, and over time were created new expressions that characterize our identity.

The carnival is the most important people of Barranquilla, the gayest, the most libertarian, which reflects more strongly the cheery and creative spirit of our people, and affirms our membership in the Caribbean.

It is the feast of greatest joy, the highest dignity, where we are all actors. Every dance, every cumbia, each troupe, every costume contest to make this event the best show not just for show but especially to enjoy it, because that is the Caribbean, where, as in the African dances, the dancer is the spectator and the spectator is a dancer

The Carnival of Barranquilla has its remote origins in the carnival that came to America from Spain. Hence its spirit of renewal and change similar to that inspired this holiday season in Europe. Today we find in the Carnival of Barranquilla facts established by the traditions, such as dances, cumbias, comedies, litanies, and some costumes, as well as new and original creations of other extras and costumes that are equally valid that the time-honored, because the fundamental tradition is the feast itself.

The first Carnival of Barranquilla is lost in history, more than a century ago, when Barranquilla was a small town.

Carnival in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro Carnival is called the greatest show on erth. It's orgins are said to come from europe, where carnival festivities comprised mostly of balls & masquerade parties. the modern day brazilian carnival has evolved to include native American and African culture in its celebration.

Rio de Janeiro Carnival is a wild 4-day celebration. Year after year it starts on Saturday and ends on Fat Tuesday. It normally takes place in February, which is right in the middle of Summer and Brazil's hottest month. For Brazilians, Carnival is a celebration to let loose and release their inhibitions before Ash Wednesday. Rio Carnival mainly consists of the Samba Parade, Scala Balls, & Street Parties. See below to see a description of each.
The parade of samba:

If you are in Rio for Carnival, Samba Parade is one of the event you can not miss. It takes place in a special venue, a stadium of 70,000 seats Samba built in 1984 and located near downtown Rio. The samba parade is actually a contest of Samba Schools of Rio de Janeiro. Each Samba School represents a local neighborhood. Each year, each school chooses a different theme for the parade of samba and the preparations are made months ahead of time. It's a huge production like the samba schools have to mobilize thousands of participants, create a theme and music, design and build floats and costumes and choreograph the production. The end result is the greatest show on earth and experience to remember for the rest of your life!

Carnival Balls:
Carnival Balls are themed parties that take place every night during Carnival. A true Carnival Ball features live Samba music. Tickets to these balls range from $US 40 to over US$ 2,000. The best nights are Friday, Saturday and Tuesday. It is definitely important to choose the correct Ball as there is a huge variety that include Gala Balls and Balls for Singles and Gays. The most famous and expensive ball is held at the Copacabana Palace Hotel.
